Michael Ronsky & Mi-Do (Switzerland)

Michael Ronsky fell on its first photos of bondage at the age of 12, in a bookshop. The photos of Araki, Richard Kern and his tied up riot girls, Bettie Page photographed by Irving Klaw. The internet does not still exist, there are books.

Very inspired by Avalon and its sensual kinbaku, Ronsky distances himself from the tradition, not wanting to imitate something that he is not. He develops a style at the same time instinctive, physical and fluid, all in connection. He works on the way of moving on the ground and of using each part of the body, the breath and a certain shape of mesmerism to pull his partner in her emotional journey.

” Eroticism is the approval of the life to the death “, we cannot summarize better that Georges Bataille – surrealist if it is the world of Ronsky, at first (2005-2009) with his fetish performers band Happymaniacs then solo. Pastes and visual extravagance were put aside, Ronsky enters process of purge to keep only the sophistication deprived.Ronsky enters process of purge to keep only the sophistication deprived of the rope and the body, while working the sound and the movement. Shady zones where the life is expressed by unusual means, uncertain breath controlled by the learned game of ropes and interlaced members. And laid bare by the rite, the physical body, place of all fascinations.”
